Grupo de impacto
High school students (11 to 19 years old) from rural public schools living in poverty.
Poverty reduction and people’s wellness depend essentially on what they know and what they can do with what they know. This includes cognitive skills (communication, math, and science), but also socio-emotional skills, comprehensive sexuality education, and economic empowerment.
By developing these skills in rural adolescents living in poverty, results and economic growth are improved. In this sense, the project had an impact on the development of socio-emotional skills, comprehensive education of sexuality and economic empowerment of students.
Fortalecimiento de la sociedad civil
Training provided to parents’ associations and community agents.
The peer educator strategy that aims to empower high school students on issues of sexual and reproductive rights and gender equality. Once trained, the students carry out the multiplier effect with their peers. In this sense, the strategy installs capacities in educational communities to ensure the sustainability of the strategy.
- There was no content grid for the training of peer educators; however, comprehensive modules were created that range from sexual reproductive rights to equal opportunities and the eradication of gender-based violence.
- The pedagogical proposal was designed for the implementation of the empowerment circle that promotes the development of social skills, comprehensive sexuality education and economic empowerment.
- We did not have a mobile database of the participants, but due to the current context we have added this valuable information to contact them.
